BioCORE has been developed to address a growing need for ongoing interaction and dialogue between the biotechnology industry and the UCSD Division of Biological Sciences. The program is designed to foster collaborations in research, education, and workforce development and to serve as a direct link between the Division and the life science industry.

BioCORE's Mission is to...

>> Encourage and facilitate research collaborations and the efficient transfer of technology between the Division and industry.

>> Assist with the career and internship placement of undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in industrial positions.

>> Organize events and meetings that provide Division to industry and scientist to scientist interactions.

>> Produce public education programs that serve to educate the nonscientist and to encourage dialogue about current public policy and ethical issues surrounding advancements in biotechnology and the life sciences.
